A plaque was unveiled for veteran Conservative and community stalwart, Richard Marshall MBE, who sadly passed away in January 2022.
The plaque is in pride of place at Mytholmroyd Community Centre, in Craig Whittaker MP's (Calder Valley) words "Mytholmroyd has the community centre because of Richard's drive and determination which saw the old chicken shed converted into what it is today."
Councillor Steven Leigh, Leader of the Conservative Group, attended the unveiling ceremony on Friday 1 July, alongside Adrian Helm, Ann Moncaster and Jill Smith-Moorhouse from Calder Valley West Conservatives, and John Marshall, Richard's brother.
"This plaque is a fitting tribute to Richard, and commemorates the time and tireless energy he dedicated to his beloved community. Richard is missed by many, but his hard work and friendship, will never be forgotten" said Cllr Leigh.
